After majoring in Political Science, I went to law school; It seemed like the logical choice, that's how Annie discretely describes life
before paper. I just didn't like what I was doing. As if there were a big hole in her heart, Annie sifted through government jobs but found no solace.
Annie decided after a year of law school to take a leap of faith. She was in the middle of planning her own wedding
when it happened. I loved weddings, and loved to design. Why not do something that involved both?
After getting her start at a local stationery store, she started a family and began designing custom invitations from home, but one day in 2005 the stars aligned and provided an opportunity to open her own store- the Envelope.
I feel...blessed, she beams as she lets her gaze wonder to her surroundings of creatively arranged fine paper and cozy furnishings.
Annie rocked it out with these images, she is clearly a natural. |
Annie has plenty of samples, pre-made options, and novelty gifts. More importantly is her rich selection of papers--a kaleidoscope of color options-- plethora of fonts, and the latest designs for any style. The exciting experience
is getting to sit down with Annie and creating something original for your wedding. Like a brand, it will be personal, unique, and exactly what you want.
And that's not all! She has also partnered with Dorothy Lane Market's amazing bakery. The bakery will create
a cake to match any of Annie's designs. They put so much effort into their cakes, I just love working with them! With a look of pride she
shows us a few display cakes and marvels over the delicate detail which flawlessly compliments her designs.
Tips for Brides:
- Send your save-the-date notices 6 to 12 months in advance
- It is actually inappropriate to put your registry with invitations
- (Charity K Photography offers personal wedding sites where you can list this information appropriately with links to the stores!)
- Include names of people who host your wedding
- Receptions held at different locations should be announced on a separate card
- Always double check your invitation before print
- The invitations are a guests first impression of your wedding--make it a lasting impression
- Your invitations should go out 6-10 weeks before your wedding date
- View your necessary paper products as another way to carry out your theme of color and design
